The latest addition to the golf course is my client from Las Aromas, Santiago, Dominican Republic. A golf course, a city of 1 million people is strong, we do not know that existed, the district hidden along the Rio Yaque of La Otra Banda.
Las Aromas has existed for 30 years, something that one of the oldest courses in the Dominican Republic. This is a high-end Dominican crowd, like the other tourists and is awareEx-pat. They may not be affected by the park or club house, but the price is to see some exquisite location, the view of first impression, this is of course a diamond in the rough!
The only complaint I have about the course, is that the footage is marked wrong, and what does the current scoreboard is gone, the use of a cart is required for non-members, use their knowledge of distances.
The following review is based on the whiteT-pieces, once again, the exact distance is listed questionable.
Hole 1 - Par 4-338 meters
First, blue shirts are best suited to 82 meters, but the mark is only about 15 meters behind, however, an overview of the impact of the city of Santiago, from the tee, the fairway is about 70 feet above. Their journey from the hole I think an eternity to hit the fairway, and as long as you avoid the forest on both sides, then your approach iswas easy for the green. NB the caddies said front nine is more difficult than the back nine, I would not agree.
Hole 2 - Par 4-309 meters
The green is slightly raised, a straight drive avoids trees on the left side and woods on the right leaves you with another opportunity to get on the green in 2. Avoid the sand, the left of the green.
Hole 3 - Par 3-144 meters
Strange hole, elevated tee pink, green, sloping fairway. Not that every golfer should endplays his second shot from the fairway of a medium length par 3! Simple, there can be real problems if yours is set down.
Hole 4 - Par 4-396 meters
Dog leg right when you can hit the ball 280 + yards, then go over the trees to produce the dog leg. They approach a building site with 80 or fewer left. If you are not a long hitter, then follow the clear zone, very nice hole, which is very satisfactory, if it goes well. One suggestion here is that yourCaddy wait for the fairway as the flag or green tea are still visible from the white.
Hole 5 - Par 4-395 meters
Before you go tee tee in the area behind the blue of Santiago, which offers views of the river and leaves. The fairway opens up the law here, a piece of this hole can be forgiven. You can not see the flag or the tee, but also open green and go straight, try to avoid the fairway bunker enormous.
Hole 6 - Par 5-531Shipyards
Even the green flag and can be seen, this hole plays until the print run would suggest. To match an other thing is that the last third of the fairway slopes in the woods. When you play for the first time you should try in the 3rd
Hole 7 - Par 4-385 meters
This is the forum of beer, some caddies give it a shot and play a game of beer! If you do not mind if someone else is your club, then go for it, it's a good laugh! Another holewhere the flag is not visible, try the hill in front of the target to the left, the ball comes around the middle of the fairway because of the slope. Hole with a green interesting.
Hole 8 - Par 3-129 meters
Short par 3, not so much to talk here, just aim straight and hit!
9 holes - Par 4-312 meters
A much more difficult than the distance suggests hole, sloping fairways, sand behind the green. The 100 meter mark, may be wrong, so if you have a stroke lengthViewer. Sloping fairways, too.
Hole 10 - Par 4-293 meters
Similar to hole # 1 in distance and feel, some players may simply drive the green, beautiful, large putting surface here.
Hole 11 - Par 4-306 meters
One of the most difficult, if not the most difficult hole on the course, here a driver is not recommended because you end up in the bush, 3 fairway wood, then take the elevated green that you can not see!
Hole 12 - Par 3-92 meters
Above the water, onthe green from an elevated tee. hole with various tropical flowers around Nice. Ask your caddy for the site itself, or to use a viewfinder, not on the green when the next strike will be a devil.
Hole 13 - Par 4-280 meters
An elevated tee looking to avoid the trees, the right and right to left is green leave you with direct access to.
Hole 14 - Par 4-302 meters
Accuracy is the key, go to the right ofFairway and you're facing a high hill, said the benefit to rebel shots allows the cordiality which to roll the ball back onto the fairway, on a rainy day, the ball stays there and have no other choice but to play sideways.
Hole 15 - Par 4-312 meters
Whack It Straight, after all, you can of green tea, this dish is the gaping hole on the course, green is quite difficult.
Hole 16 - Par 3 to 96 meters
If Ican be sure of one thing, 96 meters of this hole, "it is not! of whites, most of 120-130 game but ask your caddy, as it seems to get the marker moved. The green is elevated and there is water below the sand on the back of the green and left. In the unlikely event that the water hazard is dry (it happens), you can skip the happiness, a happiness in the concrete floor to maintain and also happens at the end of the green (yes it is).
Hole 17 - Par 5-432 meters
The hole seems longer thanis, and if your shirt is on the left, you can play on 18 Fairway (this is allowed?). Nice large tree protecting the green in front, so look for the green here is huge by the way!
18 holes - Par 4-314 meters
It will not end the tour, as we walked to the fantastic views, but it is a good way to finish. You will not see the green from the tee, but go straight and you will be closer than you might think. Strange green, and based on the positioning of the flagthe day you play, it could be dangerous for your guests.
All in all a great golf course's worth of taxes (RD $ 850 for 18 as of 15.01.2009), they sell 2 types of beer in the clubhouse, and Soberana Quisqueya, so before you go if you want a President ! Friendly caddies the north coast is a nice tip at the end of a long journey.
